omg b-real joined new found glory oh the humanity!!

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 15:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I'M NOT KIDDING AROUND HERE PEOPLE

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I can accept it's awful, but the worst of all this year, no exception?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

he's trying to be a smooth playboy! in the b-real voice!

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

this one? Cypress Hill - "What's Your Number?"

Al (sitcom), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 15:21 (twenty-two years ago)

i think so.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

'Superstar' is alright

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

haha is it really "guns of brixton"? wow.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I like it. Tim Armstrong is the white Pharrell. Except, you know... actually, no, there's no difference.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Tim Armstrong is the white Pharrell.

This statement should not exist.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm trying really hard to imagine what this sounds like!

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 15:25 (twenty-two years ago)

On the other hand, B-Real sounds excellent on the D12 album.

JoB (JoB), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 15:51 (twenty-two years ago)

"The night is young, girl gimme a chance" - what r u talking about, this shit is bumpin

Thomas Tallis (Tommy), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

i think both "take my breath away" and "in just a little while" would like to have a word with this thread

mark p (Mark P), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 15:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm an admitted "Guns of Brixton" fanatic and I can honestly say that I spent at least five minutes without moving after hearing this Cypress Hill single because I had absolutely no way to react. Pretty much the whole instrumental plays out, with the most party jam lyrics over it. Why?

mike h. (mike h.), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 16:50 (twenty-two years ago)

It's fun?

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

On the other hand, B-Real sounds excellent on the D12 album.

Well, gee, he's only rapping with D12. Paul Barman would sound excellent on a D12 record.

The Cypress song is semi-dud though. I got bored everytime I tried watching the vid.

Barima (Barima), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 17:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd like to reiterate how u&k my comparison of "What's You Number" to "Will2K" is.

Al (sitcom), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 17:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Try listening to the album. That song is one of the highlights.

christhamrin (christhamrin), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 17:34 (twenty-two years ago)

To be fair, though, it's only half the album that's abominable.

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 17:36 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, the other half is excretory

christhamrin (christhamrin), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 17:45 (twenty-two years ago)

wait, hold up.

i am currently listening to gene simmons + dave navarro's cover of "firestarter." i haven't heard the cypress hill track yet, but i can't imagine anything is worse than this.

mark p (Mark P), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 17:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Dave's on it as well? How depressing.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 17:53 (twenty-two years ago)

i knew this was a jess thread as soon as i saw the title in New Answers

(but i'm sure you're OTM as usual)

zebedee (zebedee), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 18:10 (twenty-two years ago)

the gene simmons cover of firestarter is a work of genius

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 20:30 (twenty-two years ago)

*hollywood voiceover*

"in a world. gone mad..."

mark p (Mark P), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 20:35 (twenty-two years ago)

SO MANY CHOICES

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 20:37 (twenty-two years ago)

i have to admit the actual real beasties single isnt so bad but its definitely WHAMMO when did we end up back in '97?? territory

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 20:37 (twenty-two years ago)

when all else fails, old school

mark p (Mark P), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 20:38 (twenty-two years ago)

ch-ch-check out line

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 20:41 (twenty-two years ago)

even the video is kinda just a mash-up of everything they've already done. i dunno, the whole thing just reeks of desperation.

gene simmons, on the other hand, what the christ. aging rockstars should never do covers of songs they discovered while rifling through their grandchildren's discarded cassingles.

mark p (Mark P), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 20:47 (twenty-two years ago)

actually, what am i saying, they totally should. just not this time.

mark p (Mark P), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 20:47 (twenty-two years ago)

heart - "just a girl"

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 20:52 (twenty-two years ago)

ARGH

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 12 May 2004 22:57 (twenty-two years ago)
