Joy Electric live - what to expect?

I'm heading out in a mere 4 hours to see Ronnie Martin and co. Aside from the crazy Christian fundamentalist youth group putting it on, what should I be expecting? I've heard they put more into the music during live shows. The problem is that no one can exactly tell me what that "more" is.

Whatever it is, let me know -- I love these guys, great music.

Have you heard the latest record?

That I've not, alas.

joy electric only remind me of that scene in 'hell house' where they have that RAVOR room w/ people pretending to be on drugs and such. they have JOY ELECTRIC spraypainted all over the place.

JE was grebt, sound was awful, lights were worse, none of the bands playing with him were worth much note - except the one who played the LITERAL, RELIGIOUS interpretation of New Order's "Bizarre Love Triangle"

Bless their passionate hearts.

The lighting rig was pointing out, eyelevel, to the audience. We kept making jokes about being blinded by the glory of god. There was also a giant lightup cross behind the bands that kept strobing.
