can shaun ryder play a washboard like jim?

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 7 June 2004 22:05 (twenty-two years ago)

are we supposed to be ranking their teeth? I think Jim's might be worse.

shaun ryder is one of those things i'll probably never understand. i think i might even understand that pop-eyed freak dancing next to shaun ryder more than i understand shaun ryder. he couldn't sing, could he? did he write the music for the happy mondays? i realize that there are perfectly sane people who enjoy the mondays and black grape, but i always ran in the other direction of their mess.

Scott, as is often the case, you speak for me. Those vocals are horrendous. I think maybe you have to be some kind of anglophile, a disease with which I, thankfully, was never stricken.

First five BOA lps are all donkey-whippers of the highest order, though.

I love the live Black Oak album. Can't say that I've listened to them in a while though.

There was an Inspiral Carpets video I liked that they showed on 120 Minutes all the time with a marching band going on stage with the band. Cool song. The only song I ever heard by them.

re teeth - if anyone can scan the back cover of 'Raunch'n'Roll Live' can you please DO IT!!! Not only are the guy's teeth practically British but he looks E'd (or something) out of his tree just like that 'pop-eyed freak dancer' mentioned above. Speaking of 'practically British' teeth, I got mine done today, finally(long-running 'silent-era' vintage ILX meme finished at last) so now I'll probably never be allowed back in the UK

I need to go to the dentist soon, its been over six months now.

Shaun Ryder's vocals I do like. Guess you have to live here and maybe get used to the accents to appreciate this.
