The song is entitled 'Satellite Of Love'. I am a little confused. Is this this year's 'Are You Ready For Love?' or something?

Satellite Of Love's one of his classics - it was originally on Transformer in '72 and has subsequently been on innumerable comp.'s, best-of's, live albums etc.

Wasn't it released as a single back in '72?

it's a groovefinder remix. a housey version, basically.

From the R1 playlist board:

I applaud Radio 1 for adding Lou Reed onto the B-List! It's a brilliant dance track, which will be a future hit!

I am sensing this version might just make Mr Osborne a touch miffy.

Anyway - it's out 19th July and got put straight on the R1 B-List, so it's probably the song that's keeping 'Dry Your Eyes' off number one.

"I am sensing this version might just make Mr Osborne a touch miffy."

I'm a little sceptical but if anything I think I'm more intrigued than anything else.

it's good! and I like the original.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:35 (twenty-two years ago)

it's OK in an "all right if you like that kind of thing but I know I'll get sick of it if it's played loads, but then I thought that about the housey housemartins' "Flag Day" remix but it wasn't played loads so I can still think of it fondly and I may do about this one but maybe not as much" kind of way.

Sorry, I waasn't paying attention - what kind of way was that again?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:53 (twenty-two years ago)

To be honest there's a very low correlation between things being on the Radio 1 playlist and me hearing them.

Both I and all the people who decide on the Radio 1 playlists think it's probably better that way.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:54 (twenty-two years ago)

This song is crap. Why all the fuss?

NUXX (NUXX), Friday, 11 June 2004 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

because everyone is pretending to like it to be cool, and nobody in fact disagrees with you.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 11 June 2004 17:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Now thats certainly a relief.

NUXX (NUXX), Friday, 11 June 2004 18:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I AM PRETENDING TO DANCE TO IT RIGHT NOW - COOL!

i love it. like the vocal is *so* upfront in the mix
for this type of thing, and it's real smart.
