Both releases ("Work.." and "Lies") are extremely good cut-up house with corresponding remixes that are even more club-friendly -- as far as comparisons, B&T come up with a sound much warmer than Drew Daniel did as Soft Pink Truth, a warmth which to me was essentially lacking on _Do You Party?_. It's smart but silly cut-up that isn't afraid to be put into a moderately hip club and danced on if you got the right people in there.

one year passes...

does anyone have the second, third, and fourth tracks on the second hand on the plow 12" they could YSI? i don't normally make these kind of requests, but i would love you forever. thnx, strongo.

i can upload it in about 6 hours as well - does anyone know of any new HOTP records coming out (in the kinda near future)? Their website hasn't changed in a year or so...

They have updated their website once as far as I can remember - to say that HOTP001 has sold out. More irritating is that their website has been mocking me with HOTP003 (coming early 2005) -which I think can be called a lie at this point.

yeah the only things i have seen that either of them have done so far this year are the remixes of caro's "my little pony" and roisin murphy's "if we're in love".

Jess (and you know, other people), you'll be happy to know that Beckett and Taylor's new 12" "Let's Smash Up Our Love" is going to be released on Herbert's Soundlike label on September the 26th.

And while normally the inaction on behalf of HOTP, and B&T releasing a 12" on another label; would make me suspect the label of disappearing. However they've just updated the look of their label's website, so I'll be optimistic for the moment.

Yep - I'm afraid Hand on the Plow has run in to some sharecropping problems down on the farm - HOTP is not dead but just lying fallow for a while.

Herbert has kindly taken on "Let's Smash up our Love" - and there will be a re-release of some earlier tracks form HOTP001 & HOTP002 with some remixes coming out on soundslike soon after.

Taylor has been very tied up for the last year but we are both going to be getting our heads down to get lots done.

The Roisin Murphy remix was rejected by the major label - but we let it slip out on the net just the same - there is also a finished Brooks - "Do the Math" mix by us which may find it's way out soon.
