Written by Kim Deal, it's soon to be available for download on iTunes Music Store. First new material since "Trompe le Monde".
Has anyone here heard it, and if so is it any good? I'm having real problems getting hold of it. Bah!

Outside of a few pre-tour things, they haven't given any other interviews. When NME put them on the cover a few weeks back, the accompanying article was the usual history of the band stuff, full of old quotes. I guess when all your shows sell out in six minutes you don't need to spend much energy on promotion.

Paul, I was being specific. Maybe your old blog lacked exactly that type of insight and specificity to keep it going. Besides, I think I know a little bit more about the Pixies than the average ILM poster.
I did not write these posts.

New song BAGBOY. Is it just me or is this pretty good?
― Doran, Friday, 28 June 2013 09:23 (twelve years ago)
And it features Kim Deal if I'm not mistaken.
Sounds like it could've come off a mid-noughties album by the Fall. Mind you doesn't everything?

Yeah, that's definitely Kim at 1:40. Man, this is kinda great.

Wow huh cool. Once that chorus kicked in hooooly crap yes
― Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Friday, 28 June 2013 15:08 (twelve years ago)
about two and a half minutes too long, but otherwise ok.
― tylerw, Friday, 28 June 2013 15:10 (twelve years ago)
The timing of Kim's departure seemed a bit odd because it didn't appear to be tied to any Pixies activity. Maybe she had been working on new material with them when she decided to quit.

Two weeks after announcing the departure of bassist Kim Deal, the Pixies this morning surprised fans with the release of “Bagboy,” the band’s first new song since 2004 and one that certainly sounds like it features the backing vocals of the group’s now-former bassist.UPDATE: That may sound like Kim Deal, but it’s not. Frontman Black Francis, posting, as he occasionally does, on the frankblack.net forums, writes: “I agree, it does sound a bit like Kim. But it’s my good friend Jeremy Dubs, one of the best people I’ve had the pleasure to know, both socially and professionally.”Dubs is the singer of Bunnies, and used to be with The Bennies, a group that toured with the Pixies and Frank Black in the past, and who has previously been rumored to be involved with a new Pixies record. On a Facebook post from Sean Rayburn, the band’s webmaster who is putting together a new Pixies photo book, Dubs confirms: “That’s not Kim, that’s me.”
