Aldo Brizzi, Brizzi do Brasil: Italian composer drafts pretty/avant pieces for Brazilian stars (Caetano, Gil, Tom Ze, Virginia Rodrigues, others) to sing: sublime but kinda fucked-up
Bersuit, La Argentinidad Al Palo: All the rage and humor and sexiness and sarcasm of an entire nation, focused through ska and metal and techno and touching latin ballads. Plus swearing.
Sara Evans, Restless: Might be country, might be pop, doesn't matter; three of the best songs of the last year and the filler's even better.

This is a really dynamic/energetic Gamelan album with SICK drum cuing, and vaired instrumentation. The 2nd and last songs are the best.

Actually, that's the only thing I've been listening to for several days. If you're looking for a book, Gregory by Marc Hempel just got a snazzy new re-release (the first two volumes in one handy book). One of the most dryly funny comics I've ever read.

NOTE: I almost bought that Gretchen Wilson (is that her name?) CD last time I went; it was cheap, and the ILM banter intrigued me, but I was scared off because I have (irrational?) (of course it's irrational!) phear of popular country music. (I think I bought the Cooper Temple Clause platter instead. Tee hee.) This is just to say I might come correct this evening.
Oh, god, I wouldn't mind springing for the Eno remasters, but that shit's priced at $19! I'd rather eat 6 Grilled Stuft Burritos (& a box of Exlax) for that much, y'know?

That seems redundant, actually.

AC Newman - _The Slow Wonder_ (on sale!)The Reputation - _To Force a Fate_ (cheapish!)The Fall - _The Real New Fall LP_ (cheapish!)Java | Court Gamelan (Nonesuch Explorer Series) (least expensive of all!)
The 6 GSBs and Exlax isn't so much redundant as it's part of an elaborate & necessary contingency plan. And however did you know I needed excitement in my life, H?
