In 2003:
There were 38,000 albums released
30,000 sold less than 1,000 copies
1% of releases accounts for 30% of overall sales
5% of releases accounts for 80% of sales
No indie release was over 500,000 units
83% of indie releases were less than 1,000 units

DVD music sales increased 104.5% in 2003

I think it's from Soundscan, so it's probably bogus. They just want all indies to quit.

Most CD pressing companies, even those most indie people deal with, use soundscan barcodes though.
