Holiday and recordshopping

So I went on a three week holiday. Although I didn't listen to much music, I did buy some records. Okay a LOT - Cowsills, Bad Brains and that Quine/VU boxset amongst others. Do you go recordshopping while on holiday? Do you prepare yourself (searching for addresses of shops before the trip for example.) What were some of the best finds?

much to my wife's chagrin,record shopping is a huge part of any vacation i go on . first thing i do when i hit the hotel room is look in the yellow pages for stores(preferably mom&pop stores/used stores too).

....best finds::too many to mention. i have to say that i do a large % of my buying online now off trade/fs lists and online stores and ebay. still really enjoy combing cd shelves,just don't have as much time as i used to.

record shopping in a different city is the best part of going on holiday.

I felt a bit strange buying so much music travelling earlier this year, but I did manage to get hold of an Artifical Intelligence record when I accidently stopped off in Granz, Austria - I thought that was cool (in a shallow, cosmopolitian kind of way)...

I go on vacation, I look for record stores. This is a given. I'm off to Seattle in a few weeks for a weekend visit and I expect to scrounge here and there. ;-)
