Real says they are dropping the price of downloads to a money losing price of $0.49. Is it worth it yet?

its going to be great when Real goes out of business and their songs won't play on newer hardware

I use Rhapsody all the time. It's great for work.

That said, I get it for free and probably wouldn't have even thought about paying for it if I hadn't tried it and fallen in love with it already.

I recommend it if you spend hours in front of a computer every day. Ten bucks a month to stream all you want. If someone mentions an album you haven't heard, you can just go stream it and not have to shell out cash for the CD or try to find it on p2p networks.

I used to be heavy into Rhapsody too, a total junky. I even paid for it for a while after my free access died.I don't know why I gave it up, to be honest -- I think it was because I got the bomb-ass 40g IPod and had enough trouble just listening to all the krizzap I put on that. End of unpaid endorsement.

If they were .wav files (or at least 192kbps .mp3s), I would consider purchasing music online. As it stands, these low bitrate, rights managed, turds are actually not worth a dollar or even 49 cents to me...

In fact, I would pay $2.50 for a .wav file I really wanted without any restrictions.

I probably would too.
