The last photo is a real corker, in my opinion.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 01:33 (twenty-one years ago)

regarding the last photo, a friend at work commented, 'there's something to aim for... that level of commitment'.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 01:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Oops, I somehow hadn't seen the earlier thread.

Re the other link: Thanks -- ULTRA KVLT UBER NEKRO GRIM, indeed! It's very hard to be Evil when you're about 15 and have cute dimples, but full marks for effort to all.

HAIL!

milaca, Wednesday, 18 August 2004 01:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, more power to those kids for having the sheer nerve to go all out.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 01:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I like the fat bird sitting at her dining room table best.

Wooden (Wooden), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 01:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Ha! the wolfen warrior-pups of nightspirit fill even the streets of suburbs, the power of the nightspirit grows strongening every moon...

Vas Djifrens (latebloomer), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 02:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Indeed! You may poke fun making now, but be assured that you will not laugh no longer when your head is to be sliced off by these children of Satan, especially if they obtain real scyth!

Janne Karlsson, Wednesday, 18 August 2004 02:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Indeed, the influence of Odin is felt thus even unto the hamlets of Hertfordshire. Or, mayhaps, Essex. The whore Jehova will reach a bloody reckoning soon.

Wooden (Wooden), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 02:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Be confident that neither police with dogs nor army with guns and tanks can contend with the might of these home made weaponry from ancient times.

Janne Karlsson, Wednesday, 18 August 2004 02:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Especially not Essex police force.

Janne Karlsson, Wednesday, 18 August 2004 02:24 (twenty-one years ago)

The funniest black metal picture is still a "serious" band picture one though: PROFANATICA (Not work safe!)

Øystein H-O (Øystein H-O), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 02:28 (twenty-one years ago)

damn, what a tease. I'm at work.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 02:30 (twenty-one years ago)

And the gods of old will rend the unbelievers' corpses in twain, and if that worketh not, the Profanatica publicity shots shall surely render them helpless with mirth.

Wooden (Wooden), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 02:34 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, profanatica! recommended reading: this interview. there was a videotape of them 'defiling' the book of mormon and the bible once upon a time. and drinking pee.

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 03:13 (twenty-one years ago)

interview work safe el sabor?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 03:35 (twenty-one years ago)

uh no. forgot about the whole "work safe" thing - it's got some pictures that definitely aren't. not to mention the LANGUAGE...

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 05:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Banana Nutrament (ghostface), Friday, 19 August 2005 16:31 (twenty years ago)

joseph cotten (joseph cotten), Friday, 19 August 2005 16:49 (twenty years ago)

x post

Yeah I've got no time for the sneering indie tossboys who produced this, but those are some funnee pics.

I Ain't No Addict, Whoever Heard of a Junkie as Old as Me? (noodle vague), Friday, 19 August 2005 17:02 (twenty years ago)

Yeah. I get a little angry when they insist on using "gay" as the worst insult they can come up with (more so if they're using it ironically i.e. appropriating middle-school speak; that's even worse).

joseph cotten (joseph cotten), Friday, 19 August 2005 17:04 (twenty years ago)

What does your mother have to say about all this?
"She knows we're [Profanatica] definetely [sic] the unholiest band in the world and the most desecrating!
======

George the Animal Steele, Friday, 19 August 2005 17:18 (twenty years ago)

"Who's the unholiest band in the world? Yes you are! Yes you are!"

joseph cotten (joseph cotten), Friday, 19 August 2005 17:22 (twenty years ago)

Yeah I've got no time for the sneering indie tossboys who produced this, but those are some funnee pics.

have you actually seen the rest of the site?

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Friday, 19 August 2005 21:13 (twenty years ago)

thir top ten 'worst black metal albums' list has Transylvanian Hunger, totally missing the point. seriously that's one of the best albums of the 90's.

latebloomer's rectal mocha latte (latebloomer), Saturday, 20 August 2005 11:58 (twenty years ago)

well, yeah. same guy's "essential 8 black metal albums" is about 12.5% correct.

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Saturday, 20 August 2005 20:59 (twenty years ago)

"In a PROFANATICA video clip, your bassist masturbated on a holy bible and then you, Paul, licked it off. Can you enlighten us with an explanation of this?"

tell me someone has a link to this video clip. its got to be hilarious.

dunce, Saturday, 20 August 2005 21:40 (twenty years ago)

i don't have a link but i did see the tape back in the day. they wacked off on a bible AND the book of mormon (this is back when you could call the LDS church and they would send you both for free - coincidence?) and ledney pissed in a glass and later drank it. or apple juice, we'll never know for sure.

TOTAL RETARDATION!

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Saturday, 20 August 2005 22:05 (twenty years ago)

That Paul Ledney tape is indeed bizarre.

well, yeah. same guy's "essential 8 black metal albums" is about 12.5% correct.

It's really strange list - 6 of those albums are *extremely* similar, generic and, well, not bad but utterly unremarkable. And they were all released within 2 years from each other, which makes the writer look like he only like BM if it's Swedish, sounds 95% like Marduk and is from '96-'98. I mean, it's nice to see some deviation from the by now firmly entrenched canon ("de mysteriis", "hvis lyset tar oss", "filosofem", ITNE, "the return", "pure holocaust", "a blaze...", "transilvanian hunger", etc), and the Tulus album really is very good (once you're done laughing at the "pippi longstocking" cover pic), but The Abyss? Marduk? Ophtalamia? Unlord? Raise your standards!
