Crass - Feeding of the 5000

is the song about the nuclear bombs on Feeding of The 5000 by Crass supposed to have like 30 seconds of silence in the middle? Cause mine does (I have the CD). I am especially suspicious cause when I bought Christ the Album, the second CD was defective (though its not very good anyway), so I was thinking that maybe the CD reissues of Crass albums are of poor quality or something.

i can't remember if it does or not. if you want to wait 24 to 48 hours i can find it and let you know. i never heard anything about the cds being of poor quality though.

yeah, i would agree usually, but crass albums sound beautiful. they are not lo-fi at all. the production is great!

I used to have it on vinyl and I do remember one song having a space of silence, pretty sure it's the track you speak of.

On some pressings, there were a couple of minutes silence at the start of Side 1 where the pressing company refused to press "Reality Asylum" - cos it was blasphemous. The track was retitled "The Sound Of Free Speech". No silences beyond that though.

"Do they owe us a living? CAWSSTHEYFAKKINDO."

i think he mean's "They've Got A Bomb" where in the middle it goes "Twenty odd years now waiting for the flash..." and then there's silence, I guess representing the bomb going off, then the song kicks back in.

yeah, that makes sense. On the second disc of Christ they fill the gap with "Bomb tape" (which our band later purloined for an intro tape to one of our gigs)
