There's a band called Air Conditioning?

Its a bit of a boring name. Next up on ILM, threads on Cardboard Box, Letter Opener and Gaffer Tape.

they rule they rule they rule.

both of their albums - the vinyl "i'm in the mountains" and the cd "weakness" - are on soulseek in a limited fashion.

soundwise, it's massive power trio noise with long epic songs. elements of early swans (thud thud thud) and the chaotic 'rock' side of gerogerigegege ('instruments disorder'). but that's no help really, it's just amazingly loud. great vocals that split the difference between larry lifeless and varg vikernes.

THEY RULE!

I thought this thread was about the NRBQ song, "I Love Air Conditioning," which includes the immortal lines:

And when I'm tired and so confused
Air conditioning I will use

Jazzbo (jmcgaw), Tuesday, 31 August 2004 15:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I actually like it as a band name.

two years pass...

I don't understand how no-one's revived this to rave abt "dead rails," which is on the 2007 shortlist and probably won't get knocked up by poll time

Beatrix Kiddo, Thursday, 31 May 2007 22:20 (nineteen years ago)

seriously, i was trying to explain it to a record store clerk a few weeks ago while buying a philip glass cd and "black hole" was the best descriptor i could come up with even though i wrote a full review:

Yep, Dead Rails is terrific. Is this band still active? Their musical bulldozer sound is most gratifying.
