and he said it sounded like The Cure except with a higher pitched voice.

i think he might just have ruined the song for me.

Donna Summer's "Last Dance"?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Sunday, 12 September 2004 21:10 (twenty-one years ago)

hahaha

D.I's last dance.

Donna Summer and Robert Smith should totally record together though.

Hari Ashurst (Toaster), Sunday, 12 September 2004 21:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd buy that.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Sunday, 12 September 2004 21:37 (twenty-one years ago)

and he said it sounded like The Cure except with a higher pitched voice

You didn't accidentally slip him a Darkness song, did you?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 12 September 2004 21:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I should have done, he can ruin the Darkness all he likes.

Hari Ashurst (Toaster), Sunday, 12 September 2004 21:52 (twenty-one years ago)

'The Last Darkness' - I'd buy that.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Sunday, 12 September 2004 21:53 (twenty-one years ago)

this is beginning to sound like the kind of collaboration that Kazaa would turn up "The Darkness Feat. The Cure, Donna Summer and Disco Inferno RARE RARE - Love Is Only A Feeling (I Feel Love)"

And then instead it would be some sick scat porn.

Hari Ashurst (Toaster), Sunday, 12 September 2004 21:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Sung by the guy from the Rapture.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 12 September 2004 22:20 (twenty-one years ago)

i think it sounds a LOT like New Order

kyle (akmonday), Sunday, 12 September 2004 22:24 (twenty-one years ago)

so maybe I can see how it could sound like the Cure. Inbetween Days maybe.

kyle (akmonday), Sunday, 12 September 2004 22:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Slip him the song 'D.I. Go Pop' then and see if the little punk's still smarmy about Disco Inferno.

Sasha (sgh), Monday, 13 September 2004 03:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know if he deserves it. He's all psyched about getting to interview stupid Blob Party.

I hope he doesn't read this message board.

Hari Ashurst (Toaster), Monday, 13 September 2004 11:01 (twenty-one years ago)

If Blob Party isn't sick scat porn, then there's no justice in this world.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Monday, 13 September 2004 11:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Tell me about Disco Inferno..

hobart paving (hobart paving), Monday, 13 September 2004 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

The search function will be your happy friend in this regard.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 13 September 2004 12:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Sarky fucker...

But yes, point taken. I searched and found your article on them, and its very good, even if I'm still not entirely sure exactly what they sound like.

Its here, in case anyone else wondered:

Also read Tom on the "The Last Dance" in his singles of the 90s list (which I can't find right now). Sometimes I think it (or, rather "The Long Dance", which is like an extended mix) is my favourite song ever.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Monday, 13 September 2004 12:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Sarky fucker...

Heh. I was actually referring to the other threads on ILM about 'em, which will probably tell you more of what you want to know.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 13 September 2004 13:11 (twenty-one years ago)

they gotta release those e.p's in some nice packaging soon right guys?

Hari Ashurst (Toaster), Monday, 13 September 2004 13:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Hahahahahahah

Um, anyway.

(Part of the problem is that the first EP's rights are with Vinita at Rocket Girl while the rest are part of the One Little Indian back catalog -- but even so OLI could at least repackage those four OH ANY DAY NOW YOU BJORK-BANKROLLING BASTARDS etc.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 13 September 2004 14:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I think this might be a good time for me to actually get hold of these DI EPs - is anyone sharing them on slsk?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 13 September 2004 15:05 (twenty-one years ago)

*coughhacksendmeyouraddressforaCDRburncough*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 13 September 2004 15:06 (twenty-one years ago)

You'll wuv him for it.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Monday, 13 September 2004 15:18 (twenty-one years ago)

let's all email pictures of Cristina Milian to Disco Inferno.

They will be so confused it will force them out of hibernation.

Hari Ashurst (Toaster), Monday, 13 September 2004 16:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't mind so much if they don't come out of retirement, their output is perfect - even 'Technicolour' and the 'Mixing It Sessions'.

I just need to know the lyrics to 'A Little Something', then I can die a happy man.

Sasha (sgh), Monday, 13 September 2004 23:22 (twenty-one years ago)

whats the 'Mixing It Sessions'?
