Step right up, Muslimgauze. (Though I do indeed give a shit.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 14:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Pete Namlook would also fit this like a glove. And Jandek. Or maybe they are TOO WELL KNOWN for my line of thinking? *ponders*

I think Muslimgauze has to take it by virtue of being dead but releasing at a rate that puts Tupac to shame.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 14:53 (twenty-one years ago)

R.Stevie Moore (400+ albums and counting) - and I also give a shit

Dominique (dleone), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 14:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Zoogz Rift?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Stewart Osborne, shock troop for the Secret Marines.

Has Moore hit that level? I admit that will take the cake.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 14:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Thee Headcoats? Don't know much about them, but they've been around for years.

Wooden (Wooden), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

The Bevis Frond.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:09 (twenty-one years ago)

MF Doom

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Gotta be R. Stevie Moore - who could possibly have been at it longer and released as much product to such deafening unrecognition? I bet 400 is in the ballpark. Has there been a thread?

briania (briania), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Sun City Girls (depends on how you define "few if any people")

frankE (frankE), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Jandek to thread (and I care)

Drew Daniel, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 16:34 (twenty-one years ago)

This is my musical destiny.

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 19:13 (twenty-one years ago)

John Zorn is probably too well-known in 'art music circles' to count (he's well-written about and well-studied anyway) but how about Merzbow?

Muslimgauze is dead?!

sundar subramanian (sundar), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 19:23 (twenty-one years ago)

He's been dead for years I thought.

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 19:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Quite possible, I never followed his career as such. I just assumed he was still alive since he seems to keep releasing so much.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 19:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I've actually seen somebody wear a Muslimgauze t-shirt.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 19:33 (twenty-one years ago)

NIGHTWATCH

amateur!!st, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 19:34 (twenty-one years ago)

i thought everybody gave a shit about the headcoats!

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 19:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know who they are.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 19:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I believe Muslimgauze died in 1998, 1999. Thee Headcoats are one of many projects of Billy Childish, and his name should probably be sumbitted to this thread in place of Thee Headcoats'. I remember the Crypt catalogue used to say one of his albums they released was released twenty minutes before the Heavens to Murgatroid LP which pretty much says all you need to know aboot how quickly he does stuff.

Vic Funk, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 20:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Stewart beat me to the Liquid Moamo, so I'll say King Crimson.

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 23:10 (twenty-one years ago)
