Serious question. Do they have day jobs? Or are they trustafarians?

A high portion of them do seem to work in the software/computer industry. A subset of these tend to run a label on top of that.

it's not a lucrative field unless you want to get sucked off in bathrooms randomly

cutty (mcutt), Thursday, 16 September 2004 02:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Bruner OTM.

cutty, you're going to be a lawyer.

adam. (nordicskilla), Thursday, 16 September 2004 02:53 (twenty-one years ago)

for microhouse artists!

cutty (mcutt), Thursday, 16 September 2004 02:54 (twenty-one years ago)

off the top of my head -- joshua kit clayton is the lead programmer at cycling '74 (the company behind max/msp); mpc (safety scissors) does support for the same company; scott monteith (deadbeat) used to work for tassman. robert henke, of course, is one of the founders of ableton.

They earn a big bass salary, with a few little effects on top of that.

whoever said puns are the lowest form of humor is wrong. THEY ARE THE HIGHEST AND ONLY TRUE DISCIPLES OF THE COMEDIC WAY REALIZE THIS.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Thursday, 16 September 2004 07:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, and what happened to sarcasm, then?

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 16 September 2004 07:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Off on a wild tangent here: did you know that the phrase "Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit" is a bastardisation of the correct form: "Sarcasm is the cruellest form of wit"?

Chewshabadoo (Chewshabadoo), Thursday, 16 September 2004 10:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I prefer the correct form.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 16 September 2004 10:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I believe it has always been 'lowest', but that it originally meant 'low' in a sense not too far from 'cruel'.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:06 (twenty-one years ago)

adam. (nordicskilla), Thursday, 16 September 2004 18:09 (twenty-one years ago)

adam. (nordicskilla), Thursday, 16 September 2004 18:09 (twenty-one years ago)
