one year passes...

Hearing Savatage's "City Beneath the Surface" for the first time, it sounds to me like a blueprint for a good part of Megadeth's early songs with the galloping riff and sneering vocals. It's probably a case of both bands working the same side of the room more than emulation as the Savatage album is only a year or two older than Megadeth and would have been when Mustaine was already playing out etc.
