Starting a thread, using "bands", when you actually mean "acts", isn't that extremely "rockist"?

I mean, considering the idea of the "rock group" is very much part of "rockism" according to the people who fight that strawman, then isn't it ironic that a lot of ILM members tend to start threads using "bands" by mistake when they really mean "acts"?

I had always thought that using "band" implied the group's interest in musical integrity (i.e., in common usage, Nirvana is a "[rock] band" whereas Britney Spears is a "[pop] act)."

Band implies more than one person, that's all. 'Act' somehow implies jazz hands though.
