Hey all. So I'm getting rid of the remainder of my CDs on Saturday, and I wanna give ILM dibs. I've posted this on Craigslist with a start time of 3pm, but I'm inviting ILXers to come at 2pm, so you can get the good shit (and there is a lot of it). Any questions, drop me a line. XXX

CD collection for sale this Saturday. Roughly 800 CDs and 100 LPs in all including classic rock, indie rock, hip-hop, country, electronic, etc, etc. Prices:

CDs -- $4
Singles -- 50 cents
Double-CDs -- $8
Box sets -- $20
LPs -- $1

Also for sale, is an Onkyo component stereo system: two-channel receiver (which needs a cleaning), six-disc Onkyo CD changer and Onkyo turntable. $300.

If you're interested, come to 49 Ludlow Apt. 2C (between Grand and Hester) in the Lower East Side between 2-5pm on Saturday, November 13.

There'll be nothing left for the general public then, come 3pm.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Thursday, 11 November 2004 16:06 (twenty-one years ago)

hm...I might take you up on this. Do you know what subway stop you are / what train to take?

The Good Dr. Bill (Andrew Unterberger), Thursday, 11 November 2004 16:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh man, I really don't need to be buying more CDs...

o. nate (onate), Thursday, 11 November 2004 16:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 11 November 2004 16:16 (twenty-one years ago)

The Good Dr. Bill (Andrew Unterberger), Thursday, 11 November 2004 16:58 (twenty-one years ago)

now this sounds like it's more than worth the time, especially seeing as i live 10 minutes away

lemin (lemin), Thursday, 11 November 2004 17:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Do you have speakers for sale as well or only the system?

Hurting (Hurting), Thursday, 11 November 2004 17:52 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm keeping the speakers; i just don't need an actual component system any more. i'm switching over to a fucking sweet macintosh tube pre-amp/power-amp setup (from my pops) and a cd player. and i wanna use my speakers with that.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 11 November 2004 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

SOMEONE SHOULD BUY THAT JEFF LEWIS ALBUM YANCEY HAS. IT'S GOOD.

Ian John50n (orion), Thursday, 11 November 2004 18:17 (twenty-one years ago)

YES I AGREE.

57 7th (calstars), Thursday, 11 November 2004 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Yanc3y, can you list your box sets?

57 7th (calstars), Thursday, 11 November 2004 18:58 (twenty-one years ago)

the only two left are james brown star time and otis redding otis.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 11 November 2004 19:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't list your stuff Yanc3y, I think I might start crying. $20 for Star Time, what's that about £12, a bit of a steal I'd say.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Thursday, 11 November 2004 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

not a box set, but i am also selling all (i think?) of the kompakt totals.

hahaha xpost

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 11 November 2004 19:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I know exactly where that is

hugagagagaga

Lostchijd, Thursday, 11 November 2004 19:22 (twenty-one years ago)

oh i also have the nuggets box set somewhere, only the actual disc four is missing -- i will burn a copy and sell it for $15.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 11 November 2004 19:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I am jealous of people who will get $20 Star Time or all five Totals for the same price.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Thursday, 11 November 2004 19:32 (twenty-one years ago)

A-Hahaha, I am going to have so much fun showing up and you not knowing who I am.

Superbuyer, Thursday, 11 November 2004 19:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm in Britain so I won't be there but may I enquire as to why you're offloading all this music yanc3y?

Nick H (Nick H), Thursday, 11 November 2004 21:45 (twenty-one years ago)

here is an explanation, nick

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 11 November 2004 21:50 (twenty-one years ago)

If you'd consider shipping (to UK), there's a few on that list I'd be interested in. I'd pay postage of course.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Thursday, 11 November 2004 22:05 (twenty-one years ago)

just bumpin to remind folks about tomorrow...

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Friday, 12 November 2004 17:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Please don't sell everything by three.

The Good Dr. Bill (Andrew Unterberger), Friday, 12 November 2004 17:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes. Please. I'll be out of work around four or so and then I'm coming for your hip hop.
Can I bring you an MP3 disc of anything?
I may also be interested in the system. Lord knows I need a turntable.
Do you take plastic?

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Friday, 12 November 2004 19:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Why the hell was I so sure this was today?

The Good Dr. Bill (Andrew Unterberger), Friday, 12 November 2004 19:58 (twenty-one years ago)

BUMP! Come on by, folks!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Saturday, 13 November 2004 20:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Christ, the image of me selling more or less my entire CD collection (about 10% of the size of yours) will keep me up tonight. Wahh, spooky. You don't fancy coming to near London and selling what's left? ;)

Nick H (Nick H), Saturday, 13 November 2004 20:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Thank ya kindly fella.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Saturday, 13 November 2004 23:27 (twenty-one years ago)

You are right, Yanc3y, the natural history is boring. But thanks so much for the lovely others and paley book and mightily good cupcake.

rebecca s (rebecca S), Sunday, 14 November 2004 04:08 (twenty-one years ago)

if i had known there was free beer and cupcakes, i totally would have gone.

phil-two (phil-two), Sunday, 14 November 2004 08:56 (twenty-one years ago)

IT'S ON AGAIN TODAY. 12-6pm. COME BUY SHIT AND DRINK MY BEER AND HANG OUT

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Sunday, 14 November 2004 15:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I didn't know the cupcakes were free.

The Good Dr. Bill (Andrew Unterberger), Sunday, 14 November 2004 16:43 (twenty-one years ago)

All record shops should be as hospitable as Yanc3y. Not only will he give you free cupcakes and beer, but he will play anything you're curious about, and there was still a lot of good stuff left yesterday when I left.

o. nate (onate), Sunday, 14 November 2004 20:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm afraid I pissed off yr. girl with my "rape your bookshelf" comments; my girl has been getting on my case with my tendency to work the word 'rape' into conversation whenever possible.
I'm working on it.
I've yet to crack cellophane on ANY of that stuff yet; started reading 'Black Noise' and it's utter shit.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Monday, 15 November 2004 00:08 (twenty-one years ago)

>I am jealous of people who will get $20 Star Time

That was ME...

Thanks Yanc3y, and did you rent your apartment as well?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Monday, 15 November 2004 14:46 (twenty-one years ago)

many thanks to everyone for coming out! saw something you wanted but didn't feel like buying? check the street in front of my house later this week. i think all of it's going out there in a big ol FREE box

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Monday, 15 November 2004 16:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Free boxes rule. That's one of the best things I miss about living in the East Village - all the free stuff that people put out on their sidewalks.
