There's more than a whiff of Michael Jacksonesque opportunism here (remember last month's story of that guy who 'suddenly' remembered Jackson taking advantage of him after TV news stories about multi-million dollar out-of-court settlements just happened to jog his memory?). So I'm having trouble swallowing the image of little ol' Liza striking fear and submission into some beefy, well-paid, yet cowering bodyguard.

She threatened to fire him though, didn't she?

Yeah, and also, her previous beau says the same thing. Also, I'd say she definately has the energy to do it... Have you ever seen her jumping around on stage???

This woman has lived her whole life as a 'star' and I'm sure she would have an out-of-control ego that would drive her to beat up on anyone who wouldnt play her game.

Anyone who was close mates with Andy Warhol (and therefore dosed up on coke half the time) I think is capable of anything!

No, apparently he just "feared losing his job". But really, how spurious is a claim for $100 million in damages? If he's not claiming she resorted to any kind of weaponry, what did she actually do? Beat him in the abdomen with her heels? The poor shell of a body-builder. On $238,000 a year, wasn't he being paid precisely for his expertise in dealing with drunken rages, of the sort he's whimpering about here?

Thank Christ we've got the US legal system for a bastion of justice in these dark times.

And no, you can't fire your husband, no matter how drunk or coked-up you find yourself.

It was the bodyguard who felt he was threatened with losing his job, not the husband.

The bodyguard should have just told her that he'd do it but she needed to coke up first. No, Liza, more coke, more coke, more coke. Ie - make her OD & die. He would be the most beloved bodyguard ever if he made Liza Minnelli kill herself.

This reeks more of embarassment than anything else.
