I can totally imagine Trans-Europe Express as an acapella album.

For a new album, Blood Brothers' "Crimes." Those guys do some really interesting shit with their voices.

i wanna say amnesiac or hail to the thief but i'm sure some cheesy whitebread college glee club has already run with this idea, to ill effect.

The Pet Sounds boxset has some tracks of acapella takes of Good Vibrations, and they're pretty mindblowing.

"2 Future 4 U" - Armand Van Helden
"It Takes A Nation Of Millions..." - Public Enemy

Seriously, I've been thinking for years that a kick-ass acapella unit could do some amazing things with house or hip-hop.

Bjork's "Triumph of a Heart" to thread!

you don't have to wish for Richard Thompson's Genesis Hall, because June Tabor did it, and it's lovely.

The Persuasions did an a cappella album of Zappa (incl. some written as instrumentals). They had appeared on some Mothers albums (FZ's pre-Mothers production work was often with doowop and a cap too), and were knowledgable and choosey about the material, It's still kinda uneven, but I like it. Their Grateful Dead album is a bit more tedious (not so much humor there, for one thing). Would like to hear them do a Dylan album (they did a really nice cover of "The Man In Me", and maybe some others too) Oh yeah, and they performed in this extended, experiemental video, "Sister Suzy Cinema," on that hip old (the other 80s!)PBS series, "Live From Off Center."

corny as it may be, I'd love to hear Olivia Tremor Control's two albums with all the singing saws and cricket noises and bubble machines stripped away, leaving behind nothing but layer upon layer of vocal ear candy.

a cappella 5th Dimension would be glorious as well.
