Why isn't this an acknowledged hip-hop classic? Or is it? Every beat is hot as hell, to the extent that the Neps track isn't near the best one, and they outshine all their guest stars (Xzibit, Busta, etc.).

Or is it?

I guess not!

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 18:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Because the Alkaholiks are ridiculously underrated!

This is what I'm saying!

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 18:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah haha but that's not NEWS! Aren't they listed in that egotrip book as one of the most underrated hip hop acts (right after MOP and UGK!)?

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 18:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Which I guess makes the most underrated non-acronymed hip hop act.

THA L.I.K.S.

Anyway it's news to me because I've only just heard this record this year, and I'm WTF why did no one tell me?!

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 18:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Do you have their earlier records? Those are all really great too. They haven't released a bad LP.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Really? No, but I'll definitely get them.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 19:00 (twenty-one years ago)

one year passes...
Heh.

There's a new Liks album! Anyone heard it?

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 26 January 2006 01:26 (twenty years ago)

Hi Jordan. Yeah, I heard it, that shit's hot. It's less massive-sounding and more D.I.Y. than X.O. (entirely self-produced except for a Danger Mouse track), but it works.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 27 January 2006 21:29 (twenty years ago)

ARGH Danger Mouse. The Tash solo record is better than any of the Liks LPs--though a best-of would be massive.

adam (adam), Friday, 27 January 2006 21:50 (twenty years ago)

The Danger Mouse track isn't bad, actually. It's real minimal, just a cut-up breakbeat with old-school stylez on top (lots of quotes, etc.).
