So dud, it's in the thesaurus under "dud"

classic for the 'owl being attacked with a breadknife' review

i suspect you started this thread just so you could type "classix" twice.

Ken L (Ken L), Friday, 26 November 2004 17:08 (twenty-one years ago)

overall, dud. you should've gotten better from x-ray spex alumni than this.

in spite of themselves,, they had 2 classix -- "is it a dream?" and "never never comes."

ok, not enough to make them classix, but I often find myself mentally singing "guilty, guilty you found me."

"Since moving to the USA I have found myself more drawn to worship our God. Maybe it is the enthusiastic faith of the 50% church-going Americans; maybe it is the preaching of my new pastor; maybe it is being part of our church's gospel choir? In any case, it is my hope this album will lead you deeper into the worship of Almighty God, Maker of Heaven and Earth, and Jesus Christ, His only Son."

must ... resist ... snarky ... comment ... about red states.

I don't mind "Guilty" as a one-off, but I can't imagine sitting through an entire album of theirs.

I love 80s New Romantics, but Classix Nouveaux are hardly the most classix of them. "La Variete" had something to it though...

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Friday, 26 November 2004 22:40 (twenty-one years ago)

"Guilty" is soooo everything that was great about the early 80s. Plus, lead singer looked like Barlow the Vampyre from Salem's Lot. So, classic.

I had no idea they had anything to do with X-Ray Spex! I've never heard them, either; I used to get them confused with Colourfield.

Eh, I dunno, the Classix Nouveau album I have sucks bigtime. But yes, the singer looks pretty flawlessly gothed out and knows how to blend his foundation, exagerrate his cheekbones and lay on the mascara and the eyeliner. Cosmetix Nouveau, anyone?
