the good vibes from WEEN override the bad vibes from WILCO.

The first thing I thought of was the Power Puff Girls soundtrack from a few years back, the one with the Frank Black song that was just awesome and the Cornelius song that was just confusing. The track listing looks like someone's iPod set to 'random', but I've yet to actually hear anything so maybe I should wait until I can find a torrent.

It's odd to see Plus-Tech Squeezebox on the same CD as Avril Lavigne. Their "Fakevox" record is concentrated breakfast cereal, I'm sure they go well with brightly colored neo-Ren and Stimpy animation.

Even the Wilco song is good. It has kids singing the chorus, and it's very straight-forward. THe best is "Goofy Goober Rock" which is Twisted Sister's "I Wanna Rock" with new lyrics. Oh yeah. But "Now That We're Men" is pretty righteous too.

I'm amused that the Wilco song is the first thing they've recorded/released since Nels Cline joined the band. that's gotta be the weirdest item in Nels' discography since that Blue Man Group album he played on.

my thoughts? well I just saw Flaming Lips on Conan last night performing their song from this soundtrack. the singer was inside a clear bubble and the other band members had pink fur coats and rain boots. as if this wasn't embarassing enough to watch, the song sucked hard. i'm not really a fan of their recent stuff as it is, but the singer's voice was croaking on those high notes he used to be able to hit.

I'm wondering whether it's worth buying a whole CD for one song, even if that song is by Motörhead. I'm also wondering if "You Better Swim" is just a rewrite of "You Better Run," because that will be a factor in my decision.

Oh yeah, it totally is (answer to all your questions).

I'm going to look into this way that young people are using the emails to get single tracks, especially ones where the corporations won't miss the $.

Stupid lucky kids.

Hey, why was there never a Ren & Stimpy movie? Imagine who'd climb on board that!
