But regardless, they sang on the track and seemingly were unpaid and uncredited for that work (lest the Headmaster find out about it). Something's fishy though, because I can't believe that a band as big as Floyd were at the time would have people performing on their record without having somebody sign something to cover themselves legally.

Legally, they might well have a case. I'm just saying that morally, I don't see that they do. Or if they deserve anything, it should be pretty small.

If the students were teenagers at the time, and the song was made in 1979, I'll be surprised if there isn't an issue with a limitation period barring the students from even bringing this action now. Anyone know if the UK has a Limitations Act?

If I remember the zillions of Floyd bios I read long ago, the school got about $2000 & the kids each got a copy of the record.
But in any case, wouldn't the kids just be considered session players and therefore not really entitled to perpetual royalties? The Beach Boys aren't still getting paid off this record...
And shouldn't they have brought this up a little bit earlier?
