PANDA BEAR: is Noah, better known as part of the incredible Animal Collective. Panda Bear makes highly personal and spiritually uplifting, music. Sonically different (yet equally as challenging) as any Animal Collective offering, this is rich and textured and raw. Like flitting through memories Panda Bear draws up sonic stories in the process of retelling.
Think: Microphones, Spiritualized, Labradford

ARIEL PINK: is the only non-animal-collective member to have been signed to PawTracks, Carpark's sister label. Ariel makes art-damaged karaoke-style electronic pop from the darkest depths of Los Angeles.
Ariel Pink blends Lite FM and warped lo-fi pop into something beautiful and confusing, yet highly addictive... and, amazingly, although most of his sounds are made at home with an 8 track, a guitar, bass and keyboard, all of the drum sounds he uses are made with his mouth.
Think: Engelbert Humperdink, Soft Pink Truth, Mouse On Mars

SIGNER: is the main musical moniker of New Zealand’s Bevan Smith. He has also released stuff under the name Aspen.
Signer crafts proper fuzzed-out pop gems and digital, feedback fueled tomfoolery. The music is deep; bass heavy inputs fed through shifting textures which Bevan describes as 'experiments in the movement of ambient music'. Perhaps this is the sound that movement makes in dreams. Effortless, static free flights through physical locations and emotive scapes.
Think: Flying Saucer Attack, Missy Elliot, Squarepusher

UM: the finest songwriting and audio manipulation performed by an individual who is highly entertaining, eccentric and in a strange way quintessentially English.

Thanks!

I thought Ariel Pink got turned back at customs? I know he wasn't on the London bill but maybe it got sorted in the end

if it's anything like the london gig it'll be terrible. it was really disappointing - we kept turning up and then leaving because the support bands were so bad, then ended up walking out after 20 mins of panda bear because he was so dull. and i'm a big animal collective fan, too...

Is that right about Ariel Pink? Poor guy, that really sucks! Grr, you naughty customs men! Wonder how often that happens, I know that Reynols got turned away when they came over a couple of years ago. Bastards.

Still it helps me out of a dilema, cos the Brighton gig clashes with Comets on Fire. Know which one I'm off to see now...
