"Really Bad Idea" Songs

The late 80s and early 90s were a nationwide period of LSD revival and the postpunk grunge scenes were definitely catering to an "experienced" crowd, bringing back psychedelic rock noises.

Listening to Mudhoney's "13th Floor Opening" just now, a stoner-friendly little number, I am relieved that we lived in a basement apartment back then.

If I try I could fly
Right through that window
If I try I could fly
Right through that window
Just can't find my way to the door

When I land I know I will not
Be injured
When I land I know I will not
Be injured
There's no way that
I can hurt any more

Got an open line
Up on the thirteenth floor
Got an open heart
Up on the thirteenth floor
Found an open window
Up on the thirteenth floor
Everything's wide open
Oh, on the thirteenth floor

"Really Bad Idea" Thread.

Not really, but it's brilliantly observed, and yet I cannot add...

Seems like there should be tons what with rockers being terrible influences and all.

Snoozefest, Sunday, 16 January 2005 20:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't remember if it's Princess Superstar or Peaches but one of them did a song with Disco D I think called "Fuck The Pain Away". I've yet to try it myself but I can't imagine it working.

Kingmaker "Eat Your Self Whole"
Cannibal Corpse "Fucked With a Knife"
Beta Band "Lion Thief"
Bloc Party "Like Eating Glass" does the "like" render it not so bad advice
and that LCD Soundsystem song about Daft Punk playing at your house because too many people would turn up and unless you have a particuarly large house it would be messy (think about cleaning up) and probably contrevene both health and safety and noise pollution laws. You see in theory it's good but is actually a very dangerous business.

Bloc Party "Like Eating Glass" does the "like" render it not so bad advice

"Love The One You're With" owns this thread -- the people singing it actually meant what they said, and a lot of people probably followed their advice.

Dammit that Angry Samoans one is the first one I thought of and Myonga beat me to it.
