Wasn't there a thread recently about the good old days in the 70s when artists put out multiple albums per year, back before the record industry staggered everything into 2-3 year gaps?

Maybe the guy should spend a little more time on songcraft, but how long does it take to make a folk song? I would hope that such a performer would be a lot more productive than a band that relies on a lot of careful and complicated orchestration and precision. I'm not really convinced that his stuff would be any better if he took more time, or was more discerning about what songs he releases and what he shelves.

Since Nino Rojo and Rejoicing in the Hands were both recorded at the same time it doesn't really make sense to look for a progression there.

the new album is being mixed..so unless sumone dropped leaks..noone has heard the new one yet..It has a fullness to it that will be refreshing to haters and some great lyrics as well..There is enuff for 2 records at this stage..so perhaps a recall to the multiple album releasing actions of yore is in order after all..oh and u can just buy other records too and change the station blablabalablabla

the devendra camp has been very enthusiastic about the recent recordings. (granted, thats the camp and camps tend to be enthusiastic, especially the sort that pitch their tents round beardoes).

It's not just bearding(bonding amongst those with beards)..It's a enthusiasm for music and pushing over stale dominoes to see where they fall..The new stuff is not th least bit banal..It's more pointed and stronger and every bit of what "critics" would expect from an artist who gave them some hope that they would get better with each album.

ive heard that some significant things occured but also knew what the rsponse would be if i just said "ive heard from people involved that some amazing stuff was recorded"...from conversations ive had im quite excited to hear wats coming. and i think that excitement is entirely correct.

in reviewing one of the last couplet i almost included something along the lines of, "if you fail to be charmed by this you have problems"...part of me still feels that way even if we must allow some level of to each their own.

chances are, theres gonna be some "samey" stuff for sure

and when yr dealing with hippies theres bound to be a wiff of the gamey about the air.

Showers were in full effect for the sessions..The only thing that was gamy was some of the more softer cheeses..As for samey,it's the same voice.same guitar..but given a charged and well arranged thrust into th ear that is exciting

i could be really into him if there was less fanciful warbling. seems affected. would love to hear him just straight forward sing and drop the act....b/c the guitars and melodies I often find quite nice, it's the sentiment behind it and vocals that irritate me
