- Indie rock is perhaps the only genre with a higher rating on the gay-o-meter than electronica. No talent, emaciated little queers who hack away at their instruments in a half-assed fashion and write songs that are either about "feelings" or...well...nothing at all really.
For decades, music discussions have always involved The Gay-o-Meter. It's time that we pull the Gay-o-Meter out of the darkness of its closet and discuss this mysterious (device|mental construct|set of rules) directly. So, ILM, where does different genres fit in the Gay-o-Meter heirarchy? Is heavy metal automatically less "gay" than classic rock, even with Rob Halford's Leatherman costume? Is folk "gayer" than disco or vice versa.
Let the comedy of errors begin.

What I can't figure out is what "genre" is supposed to be the studly antithesis to these emaciated queers that this guy is nattering on so passionately about.

Also, every goth ever to thread. This doesn't factor in that most of the male goths I've met are bolthead harley bikers during the daytime. And what about the suave, charming Andrew Eldridge wannabes who always leave the gig with a chica on each arm?
