I almost just wanted to start a thread on how awesome Che Che Cole Makossa is (I'm two years late on discovering this, unfortunately). Manu Dibango meets Spanish Harlem funk. Sick.

The vocal is especially sweet though -- who is this Mayra Vega? Nothing about her in AMG.

Check out the Willie Colon original version. Well, I don't know if he wrote it or not but it's certainly an earlier (and better) version than Antibalas.

I think I read that he did, in fact write it. Also that he got some of the lyrics from a Ghanaian childrens' street rhyme.
