Who remembers the now defuntct 90s metal magazine, Live Wire? The tag line was "The only metal magazine that doesn't suck!"

The editor was Mike Smith. Some of the writers there were Kelly Barbieri, Tomas Pascual, and Brian O'Neill.

I think the mag might have been some kind of bi-monthly metal offshoot of the short-lived 90s version of Creem Magazine. Mike Smith worked at Creem too as an editor.

I wonder what ever happend to Mike Smith?

seven months pass...
I found this with a vanity search...

Mike was an editor at Creem when the publishers bought the titlebut he soon gave way to a succession of other editors including Mark Petracca and Chris Nadler. He contributed to Creem - as did I - but his main duties involved Livewire and also editing some of the adult titles. I believe that he's still doing that from his Connecticut home and he even put a metal section in one of them...

Thanks for the trip down memory lane... Good times. Good times...

Now I'll dig out the issue where they published a pic of me stage diving... Ah, youth.
