boutique label ridiculousness. hopefully someone who actually likes music will reissue "madrigals in duos" and the other six organs LP he did.

man, back in college I convinced Siltbreeze to send us DUPES! of Market Square! I already owned a copy and he sent like 3 more, one for the station and 2 I gave away.
When that came out I had just gotten my wisdom teeth removed and came back to school early during spring break when nobody was there and would lie on the floor of my house listening to one of those super long songs while taking percocet.

a woman who works/worked there came in the store and told me about the closing. seems like a positive decision. everyone is splitting up and going in different directions. thus, the closing.

Time Lag Kickstarter campaign! DO IT!!
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2133818301/time-lag-records-vinyl-reissue-series
Glad to see labels getting in on the Kickstarter thing. Back to basics. Fuck the middle men!

Not bad at all. Might do the $120 level for the heck of it.
― Ned Raggett, Saturday, 12 March 2011 18:39 (fifteen years ago)
this looks really cool, wish i had $$$ to spend on it :/
don't know if it was posted on ilx, but three lobed had one of these going for a while (maybe still is? dunno) -- same kinda deal, get various bits & pieces or the ENTIRE three lobed catalog, etc.
― thank you ilxor for starting this much needed thread (ilxor), Saturday, 12 March 2011 21:54 (fifteen years ago)
3Lobed campaign still going and is well worth it. The recent WW campaign was a rousing success, too. I'm a fan of Kickstarter. Gonna pledge to the Time-Lag campaign as soon as I can figure out how much I can scrape together. Really do want all those new reissues.
― Hem Gems, Saturday, 12 March 2011 23:09 (fifteen years ago)
would rather they did something like this for reissues of their oop stuff in normal sleeves at Mississippi prices, but I guess I admire their insistence on making really really expensive high-quality albums.
― sleeve, Saturday, 12 March 2011 23:39 (fifteen years ago)
just donated to FMU so no funds for a kickstarter campaign atm... would love to have at least a couple of those reissues tho. i never really cared for the bachs record.
― not everything is a campfire (ian), Saturday, 12 March 2011 23:41 (fifteen years ago)
yer crazy bachs is kickass.
premium donation package probably better than the stock market as far as return on investment goes.
― scott seward, Sunday, 13 March 2011 00:25 (fifteen years ago)
Yeah, let me support this label and their "sorry, you blinked and missed it" business model.
― There's nothing left alive but a pair of ashy thighs (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Sunday, 13 March 2011 03:27 (fifteen years ago)
I don't understand this complaint. I've never 'missed' a single Time-Lag release. But then again, I took the pains to, you know, sign up for the MAILING LIST.
― If Assholes Could Fly This Place Would Be An Airport, Sunday, 13 March 2011 17:35 (fifteen years ago)
oh man this. a bachs reissue done properly will blow minds.
― fully sic alps (electricsound), Sunday, 13 March 2011 22:09 (fifteen years ago)
bump to remind people about this
i went in for the $120 because it is totes good value
i was lucky enough to obtain an unprocessed vinyl rip of the bachs lp a while back and all i can say is if you've only heard the gear fab or void reissues of it, you have never heard this record. it is incredible and timelag will surely do a fantastic job of it..
― ˆ°ᴥ°ˆ (electricsound), Wednesday, 23 March 2011 22:54 (fifteen years ago)
the eddie callahan record is ace too - 'where will you be tomorrow' is a total classic
