EEEEEEEY MACARENA

miccio (miccio), Thursday, 2 June 2005 16:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm honestly scared.

Ian Riese-Moraine's all but an ark-lark! (Eastern Mantra), Thursday, 2 June 2005 16:07 (twenty-one years ago)

their panties are their most dangerous weapon.

ZionTrain (ZionTrain), Thursday, 2 June 2005 16:08 (twenty-one years ago)

This song boggles my wife's mind.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 2 June 2005 16:14 (twenty-one years ago)

When I first heard it on the radio I thought maybe Fantasia was taking the Adina Howard route.

miccio (miccio), Thursday, 2 June 2005 16:16 (twenty-one years ago)

pour out a little for tori alamaze y'all

strng hlkngtn, Thursday, 2 June 2005 16:18 (twenty-one years ago)

trudat. whatta shame.

j blount (papa la bas), Thursday, 2 June 2005 16:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I LOVED the Alamaze version and expected this would be awful, but it actually holds up.

The Emancipation of Baaderonixx (KERERU 4 LIFE!) (Fabfunk), Thursday, 2 June 2005 16:24 (twenty-one years ago)

I saw 'em a coupla weeks ago - hilarious. Two of 'em don't even pretend to sing; they just prance microphone-less.

S: "Don't Cha." D: Their half-tempo, air-out-of-the-tires cover of "Tainted Love."

That's all they did at this radio concert, so that all I know.

Rick Massimo (Rick Massimo), Thursday, 2 June 2005 16:26 (twenty-one years ago)

i was at universal yesterday and asked about alamaze. the publicist said "she's dropped," but wouldn't say anything further. i pestered her for more info, but she was depressingly mum.

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Thursday, 2 June 2005 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah wtf happened there? what a drag

jones (actual), Thursday, 2 June 2005 16:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Alamaze wrote the song, right? so even if someone else has a hit with it she at least get royalties. the Pussycat Dolls version isn't really any different aside from the Busta cameo anyway.

Al (sitcom), Thursday, 2 June 2005 17:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think she wrote it

The Emancipation of Baaderonixx (KERERU 4 LIFE!) (Fabfunk), Thursday, 2 June 2005 18:32 (twenty-one years ago)

ceelo wrote it, i believe. and the dolls version is very different! lost is the spookiness, which was at least a quarter of the song's charm.

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Thursday, 2 June 2005 18:38 (twenty-one years ago)

meh, I really don't see what the fuss is about, then. if neither party wrote the song and the 2 versions aren't THAT different (although admittedly not identical) than are people just mad that someone prefab like the Pussycat Dolls are the ones having a hit with it?

Al (sitcom), Thursday, 2 June 2005 18:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't mind the single. Well, I don't mind the video. Well, I actively like the video. The single itslef is pretty incidental.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 2 June 2005 19:44 (twenty-one years ago)

This depresses me. Tori needs to go DIY and release her own album.

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Thursday, 2 June 2005 23:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't care about that song (which reeks). Just watch the video, put on mute, and "Do Ya Bizniz"

P.S. Watch out for Busta Rhymes. I got scared.

Michael Costello (MichaelCostello1), Friday, 3 June 2005 01:33 (twenty-one years ago)

four months pass...
I hate this song, but I kind of like their new sing;e "Stickwitu" .. well, the hook is cute anyway.

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Thursday, 27 October 2005 20:13 (twenty years ago)

This song boggles my wife's mind.
-- The Ghost of Dan Perry

My girlfriend loves it. I haven't asked my ex-wife what she thinks.

moley, Thursday, 27 October 2005 20:21 (twenty years ago)

the hot freak singing it to me right now likes it. my girlfriend, who's neither hot nor a freak doesn't seem all that charged by it.

ken taylrr never her (ken taylrr), Thursday, 27 October 2005 20:25 (twenty years ago)

I don't know if they make it as the new spice girls, really. I mean in the picture above the most memorable of them looks kind of like a watered down version of geri spice. Also, the single is sort of almost OK, but the Spice Girls' debut was awesome. The most memorable thing about the single is that the rapping is really inept, and the rapper kind of overruns into the song both times.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Thursday, 27 October 2005 20:29 (twenty years ago)

Don't you want a girlfriend who's sensitive like me...
Don't you want a girlfriend who's caring like me...

Japanese Giraffe (Japanese Giraffe), Friday, 28 October 2005 12:33 (twenty years ago)

It's a rhetorical question isn't it.

moley, Friday, 28 October 2005 14:15 (twenty years ago)

two years pass...

Holy shit this comeback single is awful

The stickman from the hilarious "xkcd" comics, Saturday, 2 August 2008 14:51 (seventeen years ago)

Sounds like something off that third Spice Girls album that sold six copies.

three months pass...

I had to look up the Worst Song Ever that I just heard in the car today.

At the risk of sounding like an "I don't watch TV" guy, I've never heard of these people!

WTF, there are like 20 of them:

Dan I., Tuesday, 25 November 2008 09:16 (seventeen years ago)

PCDs singles in order of greatness:

buttonz
i hate this part
beep
when i grow up
stickwitu
wait a minute
don't cha
i don't need a man
whatcha think about that

i love them all except the last though...haters clearly have terrible taste.

lex pretend, Tuesday, 25 November 2008 09:27 (seventeen years ago)

also "i've never heard of these people" o_0

lex pretend, Tuesday, 25 November 2008 09:28 (seventeen years ago)

ha, I've turned into one of those pop haters that ILM used to make fun of back in the day.

This is probably because I haven't read ILM since like 2005, lol

Dan I., Tuesday, 25 November 2008 09:32 (seventeen years ago)

Since apparently they have more than one song, the WSE that I was talking about was "when I grow up"

my wife loves it, and does spasmodic chest and pelvis thrusting dances, and then wonders why I make excuses to not go out dancing

Dan I., Tuesday, 25 November 2008 09:35 (seventeen years ago)

also, mock sex faces that thank god do not actually approximate the real thing

Dan I., Tuesday, 25 November 2008 09:37 (seventeen years ago)

I'm more wierded out by Pash's seeming unknowledge of Busta Rhymes.
