...work with Liz Fraser??? Iknow that he has said that it would be very hard to work with any vocalist after Billy, which I fully understand, but, Elizabeth. Seems like a perfect formula... Any feelings on this? Maybe it needs to posed to him.

Probably because Rankine in fact *did* work with Liz and the Cocteaus back in 1983 on the "Peppermint Pig" EP. By all accounts the band hated the experience and swore never to work with an outside producer again after that point.

oooh shit, forgot about that. i am a huge fan of cocteau twins and i stand ashamed now. i wonder what he hated most about it though... i can't imagine that liz was the worst part, plus that was a long time ago... liz is a different woman now.
