you'd do wise to heed this message,

2) my old walkman lasted through years of abuse, including one time it was dropped whilst biking, sending it skidding/bouncing across the pavement for like 10 yards. incredibly, it sill played and sounded great. i don't think a single sony product manufactured today could be remotely as reliable and durable as that one.
3) placing a turntable in direct sunlight is a great way to warp records.

This is why I love the shuffle- mine has hit the pavement/hard cement floors at least 8 times and never had the least bit of problems. Yay no hard drive head to gouge into the disk!

THEN when I finally snapped out of my stupor, grabbed the bottle and put it upright, I promptly knocked it over *again* with a swish of my spare arm and the rest went in. The slipmat was completely drenched and there was goo seeping everywhere, and it Really Obviously Stank Of Wine, but the twin joys of a. a very dark venue and b. equally twatted promoters means I got away with it.

and i destroyed a copy of "raise the pressure" by electronic by missing the turntable and dropping it down the back of a chest of drawers instead. but apart from that, i've been astonishingly lucky. especially given i'm a clumsy twat at the best of times.
oh yeh: there's an enormous rock-burn right in the middle of "lazarus" on side four (i think!) of "everything's alright forever". but that was my mate. i think. talking of clumsy mates: this is a story of woe.
