ken taylrr has gone off the internet because of you (ken taylrr), Wednesday, 21 September 2005 21:14 (twenty years ago)

Bar A Thym is fucking DEADLY!!!!

tylero (tylero), Wednesday, 21 September 2005 21:47 (twenty years ago)

Lots of the american side of house on there! nice change of pace from the overwhelming euro-ness of house/techno (electrohouse / kompakt) lately!

tylero (tylero), Wednesday, 21 September 2005 21:48 (twenty years ago)

yang yang twins. haha! yay for this mix anyway.

tricky (disco stu), Wednesday, 21 September 2005 22:12 (twenty years ago)

btw i recently bought the album formerly known as... and the first two discs were very warped. the distortion was kind of amazing actually.

tricky (disco stu), Wednesday, 21 September 2005 22:14 (twenty years ago)

Awesome selections. Crappy cover, though (warning: very large image). Looks very mid-90's-industrial album sub-Dave-McKean.

Telephonething (Telephonething), Thursday, 22 September 2005 01:41 (twenty years ago)

deeeTROIT in running things shocker

vahid (vahid), Thursday, 22 September 2005 06:51 (twenty years ago)

that trickski record is great. looks quite interesting in that i love mixes that start off around 100bpm and then power up.

stirmonster (stirmonster), Thursday, 22 September 2005 07:20 (twenty years ago)

Mr. Craig, please save us from the German/electro thing overdose!!!
Satoshiie on his own can't do it http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0009NCPPG/qid=1127382376/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_11_1/026-9861215-2082859

Only you can do it, man.

dathang, Thursday, 22 September 2005 08:50 (twenty years ago)

If Ivan Smagghe did it I supposed it'd be retro and should be released on Soul Jazz etc.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 23 September 2005 21:01 (twenty years ago)

Hmm. Dunno if this'll be good or not. btw. lots of people (well, 2 friends of mine) have said that the death in vegas fabriclive has (some) good tracks, but is badly sequences, and not worth (US)$18. True or not?

paulhw (paulhw), Friday, 23 September 2005 21:28 (twenty years ago)

false. it is totally worth $18.

vahid (vahid), Friday, 23 September 2005 23:24 (twenty years ago)

$8 seems reasonable to me.

Andy_K (Andy_K), Friday, 23 September 2005 23:29 (twenty years ago)

$8 would be a no-brainer!

vahid (vahid), Saturday, 24 September 2005 00:28 (twenty years ago)

8 and two bags of salt, plus an aging camel.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 24 September 2005 10:14 (twenty years ago)

Mr. Craig, please save us from the German/electro thing overdose!!!
Seconded. Thanks for the house

blunt (blunt), Saturday, 24 September 2005 12:46 (twenty years ago)

Megablast track is hot!

badbwoy, Wednesday, 28 September 2005 23:02 (twenty years ago)

three weeks pass...
haha
LOVE the 'remix' of Ying Yang Twins...

a, Saturday, 22 October 2005 14:48 (twenty years ago)

(basically, typical CC synths under the chorus)

a, Saturday, 22 October 2005 14:52 (twenty years ago)

two weeks pass...
according to this, fabric comissions -two- mixes:one for promos and a different one for the proper, in-stores release...didn't know that

manuel (manuel), Friday, 11 November 2005 05:54 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, often better tracks end up on the promos that on the mixes - like, Thomas Schaeben and Schad Privat's "One Night at the Dizko" would be so much better on the Mayer mix than that other comparatively boring Schaeben track he put on there.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Friday, 11 November 2005 06:03 (twenty years ago)

I'm just glad you used the word "comparatively" in that sentence. While I also prefer "One Night At The Dizko", you can easily understand why "Really Real" is used when Le Dust Sucker's "Love Me" lurches into it.

Jedmond (Jedmond), Friday, 11 November 2005 06:30 (twenty years ago)

No I mean that other old Schaeben track that comes on after "Busted".

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Friday, 11 November 2005 06:40 (twenty years ago)

"Really Real" is great!

They should all get together and make an album already. Schaeben/Voss/Privat were so utterly amazing live.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Friday, 11 November 2005 06:41 (twenty years ago)

So if i want to hear American house in 2k5 is this the mix to get?

deej.. (deej..), Friday, 11 November 2005 06:56 (twenty years ago)

er...american techno.

deej.. (deej..), Friday, 11 November 2005 07:02 (twenty years ago)

I'm glad it was just a misunderstanding - I was baffled by the "Really Real" hate, and was clutching at the word "comparatively".

Definetly in agreement on the idea of a Schad Privat album (Firm owe us, to make up for Firm cd01, and Firm cd02). Even if they just threw together the Schaeben produced tracks and a couple of Andre Kraml tracks, say:

Really Real
One Night at the Dizko
Cold Heart Sweat
Matrimony
Flight 335
Hospital Room
Safari
No Orgasmatix
First Class
Dirty Fingernails

(hell, even that lazily compiled, and no new tracks, if Firm released it in December and it would have to be one of my favourite albums of the year).

And I am sick with jealousy that you got see them live.

Jedmond (Jedmond), Friday, 11 November 2005 08:29 (twenty years ago)

i found this kinda dull. perhaps i should give it another go.

toby (tsg20), Friday, 11 November 2005 08:33 (twenty years ago)

Don't waste your time, Toby.

The Workout: so much better.

Andy_K (Andy_K), Friday, 11 November 2005 10:00 (twenty years ago)

Trickski's "Sweat" is indeed brilliant....

philip sherburne (philip sherburne), Friday, 11 November 2005 12:54 (twenty years ago)

Carl Craig's Fabric 25 might be 2005's best DJ-mix comp. It'd be just as effective in a club as it is for home/car listening, and is just really, really gorgeous more'n anything. How the fuck does he still have it? I mean, wow. And I love what he does with "Wait."

Thomas Inskeep (submeat), Saturday, 12 November 2005 01:30 (twenty years ago)

That "The Workout" mix is insanely cheap used: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00006JS49/

I guess people don't like the lack of any cue points at all (fair enough) :/

Worst song, played on ugliest guitar (fandango), Saturday, 12 November 2005 01:39 (twenty years ago)

according to this, fabric comissions -two- mixes:one for promos and a different one for the proper, in-stores release...didn't know that

so this is true, then? do the two tracklists for each mix differ greatly or just by a few tracks? [scrambles to find my promo of michael mayer's mix]

heywood jablomi (heywood), Sunday, 13 November 2005 03:17 (twenty years ago)

Hmmm, mine has the same tracklisting, the one with the crimson red card sleeve?

I think there are the regular mixes, the promos AND the 'radio mix' editions here.

Worst song, played on ugliest guitar (fandango), Sunday, 13 November 2005 03:25 (twenty years ago)

nine months pass...
Needs a few more spins this I think. I think it's good but it came over as occasionally bland & too basic in parts first go for me as well.

just say no to individuality (fandango), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 21:42 (nineteen years ago)

wrong again! :D me likey
