So, any word on Concentricity? I listened to snippets in a record store once, sounded good at the time, but I guess part of the point is to listen to it in full.

It's very good. He really is an amazing programmer. I wish he'd go more all out of pop grooves though - the fleeting moments when he does are captivating.

There does seem to be something ingrained that prevents him going too pop-like. With the exception of maybe one 12" I've heard, I can't think of anything he has done that I haven't REALLY liked. And yeah, Concentricity is excellent.

I'll have to check it out. I still listen to Stabiles with some regularity.

Yes, it seems like SW has kind of gone under the radar, here at least, in spite of being really wonderful and having released an album. His split CD with Geoff White is one of my favourite electronic CD's I've heard.

yep, i love that one, too. it felt wonderfully out of place on force inc at the time (probably the guitar work). they did a great live PA at mutek a few years back.
i'm also a big fan of concentricity and grounded in existence from last year. concentricity is definitely one of this years notable hybrid techno releases. it has some electro leanings that could sound woefully out of place in 07, but work because they are done very well. they lessen what could be construed as preciousness/perfectionism and they fit right in to the overall sound. anyone heard this yet?

apendics.shuffle and motherfucking STEWART WALKER are playing here live tonight. I got my ticket in spite of bad sickness and prolonged trouble to my ears. Today, even though now that I'm start to feel better, there's a transit strike out of nowhere. Should I walk 2 hours there and 2 hours back, possibly in the rain for this? If not it's probably going to be another 4-5 weeks before I go to a techno event again.
