Apologies if this was covered already:

The after-school percussion group at Minnetonka High School, Minneapolis, rehearsed for months and can now play two tracks from DJ Shadow's 'Endtroducing' album. The music was arranged by 25 year-old geographer/law student/vibraslap enthusiast Brian Udelhofen, who teaches the group.

The Cal band oddly played "She Bangs the Drums" once in the mid 90s - I freaked out!

Not bad. They get a little lost on a couple of the rapid-fire drum fills, but it's hard to compete with a drum machine.

Hurting (Hurting), Monday, 26 September 2005 23:54 (twenty years ago)

And, also strangely, I am a law student, but not a vibraslap enthusiast.

Can I get a definition on vibraslap?

Big Loud Mountain Ape (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Monday, 26 September 2005 23:54 (twenty years ago)

Nevermind. I've used those things a lot, but never knew they were called a vibraslap.

I've not used them enough to call myself an enthusiast, though.

This is pretty cool, the orchestral-sized drums and concert hall sound great for that David Axelrod sound.

This inspired me to figure out that opening piano part on "Building Steam with a Grain of Salt"! It's all maj-6th chords, I think.
