"I Wanna Be A Hippy" - Technohead

I heared about some nursery or school did a show with this one as one of the songs, with lots of comedy kids dressed up and waving massive joints, groucho marx style. Massive controv on the scale of Dylan at Newport. (But one I think Alice would have loved/joined in on)

Go! Team - "Feelgood by numbers"

The whole album makes me feel smiley and happy - which is quite an achievement, considering what a miserable get I can be.

Lesley Gore - Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows

Marge: You look...nice.
Ruth: Tonight has nothing to do with "nice". Tonight's all about --
[She puts in a tape: "Sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows" --]
Oh, sorry Marge. Wrong tape.

The Boy Least Likely To, "Be Gentle With Me"

"I'm happy because I'm stupid/ Scared of spiders, scared of flying/ If I wasn't so happy/ I wouldn't be so scared to die!"

i reckon the happiest moments are always laced with sadness that they can’t last, aren't they?

joseph cotten (joseph cotten), Wednesday, 28 September 2005 22:43 (twenty years ago)

ha ha, the band hate it and refuse to play it (and sacked the bassist who wrote it halfway through their career [not that cause and effect should be inferred]). on their reunion tour in January, Simon Austin would respond to frenzied audience members screaming for "KELL-Y STREEET!" with things like "what? huh? sorry, we don't know any Kenny G..."
