I've waited 12 years, I can wait another month or so! I just have to avoid that thread now :(

Besides which I don't believe it really has leaked.

Kate Bush song in Golden Compass

Kate Bush's last new material was the album Aerial in 2005
Kate Bush has recorded a new song for the soundtrack to the Golden Compass, based on Philip Pullman's book.
Lyra was written and produced by Bush, featuring Oxford's Magdalen College choir. It will be her first new material since 2005.

The song is named after lead character Lyra Belacqua, played in the movie by Dakota Blue Richards.

Starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig, the film and its soundtrack will be released next month.

Bimble, Sunday, 16 December 2007 19:44 (eighteen years ago)

huh. i don't know, i kind of like it. very subtle, which is cool.

Surmounter, Sunday, 16 December 2007 20:06 (eighteen years ago)

it's definitely rather fascinating, as a new sound from Kate Bush. hmmm

Surmounter, Sunday, 16 December 2007 20:08 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah I wasn't quite blown away either. It's kindof spare isn't it?

Bimble, Sunday, 16 December 2007 22:04 (eighteen years ago)

Feels like she's trying too hard. I hate to say it, but that's how I feel.

Bimble, Sunday, 16 December 2007 22:07 (eighteen years ago)

two weeks pass...

i don't know i actually look back on this hearing kind of fondly. her voice sounds so interesting, i'm not sure if i love it or don't kno what to think about it.

i like the sparseness in a way, it's rather meditative. it's definitely an amusing New Thing From Kate Bush though.

Surmounter, Friday, 4 January 2008 15:51 (eighteen years ago)
