I have tried to download itunes to my PC but everytime I do, it stops halfway through. The screen then says that there is a corrupt file in the program I'm trying to download. Anyone able to help me out? I'm very much a spastic when it comes to this sort of thing!!

Apple's had much trouble with iTunes 5.0.

Which, I think, is why they released (and I downloaded and installed w/out as much as a hiccup) iTunes 5.0.1 so darned quickly.

Maybe you'll have better luck with a later version of the software?

I'm having a different problem and it's happened to a few of my friends. We have slightly older iPods and upgraded to iTunes 5.0.1 and we both have Macs.

Anywhow, everytime I transfer music to my iPod now a few of the files get corrupted on my harddrive. They get turned into "Stream" or get turned into totally small files. None will play anymore.

Anyone else experienced this? I'd advise everyone to do a sort by "file size" and double check there iTunes libraries and for god's sake-- back that shit up!

A new iPod Updater was released last Friday...maybe that'll help you: http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ ?

What's weird is that it won't let me install the updater on my ipod. It says it can't do it because it's not OS 10.3 or higher, or something like that. The ipod's not crazy old either. It's one of the 20GB with the dock connecter. I'm totally stumped.

Thanks for the tip though.

two months pass...
Well er, sorry for reviving this useful thread, but I couldn't really find anything more appropriate.

What can I do with iTunes videos? I decided to buy some The Office episodes from the music store. Can I burn these as DVDs? Can I do anything with them other than watch them in iTunes?

Yes, send them to me.

Theoretically, would they play if I did? A friend emailed me a song bought from the iTunes music store before, and the DRM blocked it from playing on my computer.

Actually, no, probably not unless you gave me your Apple account id + password. :-)

iTunes, the music revolution that makes it harder to do everything you used to be able to do easily with your music!

No shit. My iTunes is now rejecting a fair number of new CD's, just spits them back out.

Thank god you don't have to download new versions of CD players.

one year passes...
fuck me if I wanted my music to skip I'd just play it on my Nano.. where is VBR bugfix u cunts?? it's been two years now... have stuck with vinyl!

nb: burning CDs with iTunes. Quick, easy, doesn't make them properly. DO NOT WANT.

I am on a Mac and I never let all of the automatic Software Updates run without checking them over first.

If my iTunes is working, I usually opt out of upgrading it, as I figure that any upgrade they are offering is more likely to advance their agenda (to do with some irrelevant store shit and DRM or whatever) than mine.

I have a PC just for dust collection (plus soulseek and MS Access) and although I have never used it with my iPod, I can recommend Foobar as a simple (all the way to crazy advanced) mp3 playa. Like I said, I don't know if it, or any other third party software for that matter, can deal with an iPod. HTH, FWIW, ETC.....

the safest bet is to get something else for pc besides itunes. there are tons out there for pc. mac users should just use itunes.
