Should I buy that CCR box set?

Because all I have is a scratched up copy of Cosmo's Factory on vinyl, and that box looks pretty damn cool, and I've been fiendin' for some freewheelin', er, "swamp pop."

Does anyone else out there have it? How worthy do you find their entire discog? (I'd probably wait until next summer/job to get it anyway, but it's just so damn tempting).

I've got it. Fantastic.

It was on my to-buy list for a couple of years before I broke down and got it about a year ago. There's a lot of stuff I'm not that interested in (like all the live stuff on the last disc), but I got 8-10 CCR tracks that I listen to all the time that I didn't know about before. Pretty nice when you consider how played out so much of their catalogue is on classic rock radio.

Definitely worth it. Everything's there, especially the great pre-CCR Golliwogs stuff, which sounds great. Their hits were generally their best tunes, but the rest of their material (bar some tunes on their last album, on which John Fogerty took a backseat, songwriting-wise) is remarkably consistent. The package sounds good too.

i got it from emusic when it was free as in all-you-can-eat.

the pre-creedence CD is listenable but not memorable. everything after cosmo's factory is bad. but the rest, the majority of the set, is excellent.
