Plastic soul review!

The horn charts on both songs are eerily similar. "Temptation" is much more camp than the Elton song, which is one of his very best.

Casting my vote for "Temptation," though the forced diva vocals are too much. The horn chart is pretty much the stereotypical Motown brass, though, innit? I'm sure I've heard it on an Otis Redding song, though I'll be damned if I know which one.

Not my favorite of either, but "Temptation" owns (coming from Philadelphia isn't helping my opinion of the Elton any)

Andrew, you can't TASTE the freedom in Philly?

Alfred Soto (Alfred Soto), Thursday, 13 October 2005 17:01 (twenty years ago)

I've seen the Liberty Bell...once? We took a field trip.

Anyways, the top Elton song on the clasic rock radio station around Philly is usually "Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding". A much better choice.

temp-tay-shun!

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Thursday, 13 October 2005 21:20 (twenty years ago)

this song makes me upset that they never actually say the word "temptation" in the New Order song.

It was too easy to make this a TS b/w Heaven 17 and New Order.
