She is quite simply THE most amazing female singer/musician that ever lived. Surely even Nico would have feared her had she ever heard
"When You Say".

I admit I didn't realize it at first when I heard this, but after about 9 times, you suddenly realize...you can't be really free, without Christine McVie.

It's actually not that great. And i'm like the biggest Christine fan in the world. It's ok, don't get me wrong, but still a little stiff. I like her stuff with Chicken Shack better, I think. That stuff's a little tougher.

I am listening to Led Zep's "Drum & Bass Show" from 5-21-77. Who knew they'd sound so great with Page scaled way back in the mix. Some great bass playing going on there!

As for the original claim, I haven't heard it, and I've been meaning to check out McVie solo stuff -- Beatles comparisons or not -- mainly because I like her FMac songs more than the others, generally.

Then again, I could say the same about the first two Godley & Creme albums, or solo Jeff Lynne, or Spanky & Our Gang, or just about any band with rock harmonies and song structure progressions

While it's too bad I can't get past it, I guess comparing things to Beatles or Led Zep at this point is just too much of a colloquial hyperbole for me (and I stress just "me" here) such that the humongous aura that hangs over both Beatles and Led Zep, extramusical mostly, clouds my ability to comment on these types of comparisons.

Basically, what I'm getting out of this is "This McVie record is really sweet, and kinda rocks out well enough at times", and if that's the goal of the thread, then great! *shrug*

the post-Mac solo had some good tracks, but overall kinda stolid. Would like to put together The Great Lost Fleetwood Mac, with best tracks from all their solo albums(talking bout the Rumors crew, not earlier incarnations; I can't even lie to myself about being that energetic)
