Keak Da Sneak
Kunta Kinte
Sumday (2006, CD)

"......You’ll need a glossary to work out the new Bay slang (thizz faces?), but that’s half the fun. Kunta Kinte isn’t gonna get anyone’s five mics, but it’s 2006’s best record yet for drunkenly doing doughnuts in a convenience store parking lot at 2 a.m."

i read this initially as though "doing doughnuts" was some sort of drug slang that i was not hip to.

They shoulda had you on with Sway on that MTV "The Block" look at the Bay area...Although "the block" has a whole different meaning in Baltimore...

I read it as snorting smoking or shooting up some glazed twists

Strongo, do Baltimoreans/Baltimorons appreciate your humor/approach--I like the following in the "shortlist"-

"The Bled proves that heavy-type rock still has a faulty grasp on grammatical construction at the Ottobar ...Another college-level success story you’ve never heard of, O.A.R. jams at Rams Head Live.

FRIDAY: Well, it’s St. Pat’s, and before you puke up your Shamrock Shake, you can stumble around to the Blues Vultures,
And rounding the evening out, it’s a night of ska and . . . grunge, two great tastes that go great together, with the English Beat and Soul Asylum at Washington’s 9:30 Club...
Sonar presents the “World of Drum and Bass,” 99 percent of which is guaranteed to sound exactly the same, with DJ SS, Die, Grooverider, Skibadee"

They were explaining the bay area slang to Sway on MTV...
