Is this a universally acknowledged syndrome? A female does a track with The Artist and her pop music career is headed down the drain. Think about it. Have any of his collaborators done anything memorable post-Prince? Sinead O'Connor, Vanity, Sheena Easton, Sheila E, Rosie Gaines...

susanna hoffs did fine. altho i'm not sure if recording a track he wrote for you in hopes of getting in your pants is quite the same as "collaborating."

for that matter sinead didn't "collaborate" either, she just recorded one of his songs.
