I don't recall Cobain's dreadlocks phase

Aaron A, Monday, 20 March 2006 23:12 (twenty years ago)

Oh well....with all the Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Beatles, Kiss, Metallica and Jerry Garcia figures they already made it was only a matter of time before they got Kurt. I still don't find it as agonizing as that comic/graphic novel they made of him!

xgurggleglgllg (xgurggleglgllg), Monday, 20 March 2006 23:19 (twenty years ago)

i think dude from tull has one too

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 20 March 2006 23:21 (twenty years ago)

Oh yeah, see? There's so many of them! They could've at least modeled the figure after the "Heart Shaped Box" video. : )

No holes in the jeans.

grapple (grapple), Tuesday, 21 March 2006 01:37 (twenty years ago)

in other news, Courtney is allegedly selling her share of Nirvana. Thank god.

don weiner (don weiner), Tuesday, 21 March 2006 02:27 (twenty years ago)

i thought she was selling a share of her share.

My faxed joke won a pager in the cable TV quiz show. (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 21 March 2006 02:31 (twenty years ago)

In my opinion there is nothing out there to make Nirvana either more or less interesting. Everything significant is on the table, what's done is done, and what happens from this point forward doesn't really matter.

Mark (MarkR), Tuesday, 21 March 2006 02:32 (twenty years ago)

in other news, Courtney is allegedly selling her share of Nirvana. Thank god.

Not if she's selling it to Michaal Jackson.. or even worse, the Hendrix estate.

Digitech Cobain Pedal!

rogermexico (rogermexico), Tuesday, 21 March 2006 17:35 (twenty years ago)

Oh wait...

rogermexico (rogermexico), Tuesday, 21 March 2006 17:40 (twenty years ago)

Pretty tacky! But, it is a reasonable resemblance, I suppose.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 21 March 2006 17:40 (twenty years ago)

hahaha i love how there's a control knob for "grunge"

pyjamagrama (teenagequiet), Tuesday, 21 March 2006 17:41 (twenty years ago)

Ha, check out the controls on another pedal in the same range:

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 21 March 2006 17:44 (twenty years ago)

JEEZ! And I thought DOD made the tackiest pedals!! I can imagine that the "vaccum tube agonizer" is probably a distotion, but what in the world kind of effect is a butt probe!? How about a pic of the infamous DOD buzz box? That one pedal that was modeled after Buzz Osborne of the Melvins.

xgurggleglgllg (xgurggleglgllg), Tuesday, 21 March 2006 21:10 (twenty years ago)

what in the world kind of effect is a butt probe!?

If you have to ask...

rogermexico (rogermexico), Tuesday, 21 March 2006 21:22 (twenty years ago)

I love the story of how Buzz used his Buzz box until it broke. And he'd be damned if he was gonna go out and buy a pedal with his name on it.

Whiney G. Weingarten (whineyg), Friday, 24 March 2006 06:59 (twenty years ago)

Hahahahahh! Allright!
I knew this guy who had a Buzz Box, he didn't know what the heck to do with it! But he sure wouldn't sell it!

xgurggleglgllg (xgurggleglgllg), Friday, 24 March 2006 07:56 (twenty years ago)

Supposedly some guy from DOD was after Buzz just dying to know how he got that sound on the "Eggnog" record. I think he was just using an MXR Blue Box (I still haven't tried it!) an octave fuzz, I think. Then the guy took the sound of the Blue Box and then mixed it with like the Grunge pedal or something.

xgurggleglgllg (xgurggleglgllg), Friday, 24 March 2006 08:00 (twenty years ago)

Replying to those effects pedals, those are used VERY VERY VERY often. Almost every kid who has a band around here has at least one. The grunge is pretty common. Usually the "grunge" knob is turned about halfway up.

Period period period (Period period period), Friday, 24 March 2006 08:07 (twenty years ago)

My first pedal was a Grunge pedal! It's kind of embarrassing now, but I got it way back when DOD were the ones still making them. But no pedal talk would be complete without of course, the infamous Big Muff.

xgurggleglgllg (xgurggleglgllg), Friday, 24 March 2006 09:10 (twenty years ago)

aha! i knew there had to be a thread!

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 27 March 2006 14:11 (twenty years ago)

Roffles. A thread for WHAT?

rogermexico (rogermexico), Monday, 27 March 2006 17:59 (twenty years ago)

A thread for the Butt Probe, of course!!
