As part of a promotion, Prince is expected to hold a private concert at the Hollywood property--which recently was listed for sale at $11.9 million--for album purchasers who find a Wonkaesque "purple ticket" inside their CD cases.

Why he couldn't just do this at Paisley Park, I don't know.

Because Minneapolis is cold and rainy?

Of course.

Hence:

It also states that the tenant may cancel the lease with 45 days notice "should the weather conditions of the Los Angeles rainy season...prohibit enjoyment of the property."

You can take Prince out of Paisely Park, but you can't take Paisely Park out of Prince.

Did he really expect Prince not to do this?

It'd be like .. (insert Gary Glitter joke here)

I've been a Boozer fan since the Duke days (reppin' JUNEAU!), but hopefully this little spat between two of my favorite stars can be resolved without distracting from the attempts of either to play his way back into shape. 3121 should definitely earn your boy some MVP consideration, but it remains to be seen if C-Booz is fully back on his game.

It should come as no surprise, I guess, but it's still eye-opening what being a somewhat above mid-level NBA talent will buy you.

Not saying the Cavs' then-management wasn't partially to blame for the summer '04 contract fiasco, but I think Prince's approval rating just went up here in Cleveland.

Prince surprises fans waiting to buy copies of new album with a show
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Fans waiting to buy copies of Prince’s highly anticipated new album, 3121, were greeted with something even better — a surprise performance by Prince himself.
Wearing a white top hat and jacket, the pop-funk maestro launched into a punchy set of songs early Tuesday at the Sunset Tower Records in Hollywood.
Fans screamed, dancers onstage shimmied, Prince broke out his frenzied guitar playing, and longtime collaborator Sheila E joined in on percussion, according to a Tower press release.
“It was an impromptu decision. He lives in L.A.,” said Serena Gallagher, publicist for Prince’s label, Universal Motown Records.
About 500 fans who received special purple wristbands packed into the store, leaving others outside in the rain.
Prince performed classic hits such as Let’s Go Crazy and Purple Rain and invited attendees onto the stage for a dance contest.

This is Boozer's karmic comeuppance for double-crossing the Cavaliers, I should think.
