man I don't know how deep some of you guys go with the Mummies but the actual Mummies are an all-time fuckin' band who definitely can go toe-to-toe with the Minutemen. They're simple stomping garage rock but Christ were they great.

I saw the Mummies once. They had a fake Mummies band come out and pick up their instruments and play a song and then the real Mummies came out and threw them off stage.

for some reason I just watched 10 seconds of a here come the mummies video. I thought they were simply ripping off the mummies but now I realize they are actually wrapped in toilet paper because they are anthropomorphic lumps of human shit. if ever there was a time to stab a motherfucker in the back...

otm! both bands are "gimmicky" in a way but with minutemen the gimmicks are more in the music (funny lyrics, brief funky moments) whereas the mummies just dressed up like mummies

i saw the "misfits" with that turd michael graves & i got p mad

this will probably give you equal measures of anger and schadenfreude. the guys in aerosmith are kind of obsessed with the misfits and we spent an afternoon in Redding once debating whether to spend our night off seeing graves at some local watering hole - this video tipped the scales to "no"
