The new Franz Ferdinand song "L. Wells" is surprisingly good

I just saw the video of this non-album track, and it's better than almost every song on their second album (which I like). It's a bit uncharacteristic song from Franz Ferdinand, reminds me of Blur's 'For Tomorrow' or some '60s stuff.
The video with it's free cinema/nouvelle vague atmosphere is ace too.

Great song. They are getting better and better with every release it seems, getting rid of the rougher edges from their debut and writing stronger and stronger tunes.

Well maybe. It's a bit Big Country in places, which is fun. The lyric's not as all that as it thinks it is - cut and paste Mozzer even - which would be okay if the vocal was muddier. I like it, but it'd only be a middling track on YCHISMB.
